Babies are just my most favorite people, and bringing a new baby home is one of the most exciting, and terrifying, things you’ll ever do. I have two daughters of my own, and have been right where you are! It’s been my great honor to have been trusted by eleven(!) years worth of parents to be the one to capture their children’s first portraits and “baby pictures.” Being a newborn photographer is one of the great passions of my life, and I’d love to tell you about what I do!

Unless you happen to be familiar with the world of baby photography, booking a newborn photographer in Meridian, MS to work with AND HANDLE YOUR NEWBORN(!) is a daunting task. As a new mom, I was so overwhelmed that I completely gave up and never had newborn photos taken of my girls. Regrets, anyone? Oh yeah, big ones. All I have is one professional photo of each daughter on her first birthday. ONE. PHOTO. Each.
At the time, I was exhausted and, frankly, scared to spend the money on something that wasn’t a “sure thing.” What if the newborn photos turned out like their (terrible) hospital pictures? How do I know that I can trust the photographer? Who is the best photographer for me? If only I had someone whom I trusted to just tell me what to do and make it easier, I would have made different and better decisions. So here I am, ready to be that person for YOU. I have developed a simple, safe, and beautiful newborn photography experience for my moms and dads that gives them the gift of photography and the peace of mind that they and their new baby are being cared for and guided every step of the way.
Newborn Photography Process Overview
The process is the same for both Newborn Sessions in my home studio in Meridian, MS and Lifestyle Sessions in the family’s home; the only thing that changes is the location of the photo shoot and style of newborn photography.
What you can expect from a Studio Newborn or Lifestyle Session with me:
Safety first! I have been working as a photographer with newborns since 2012 and a mom since 2002. My primary concern is your baby’s safety. If I feel that the baby may be unsafe in a pose or position, I correct the issue immediately and have been trained to recognize and handle babies with birth injuries or congenital conditions.
All of my clients say the same thing: You are so patient! When I am with a newborn, I treat them like I have nothing but time, and they are the most important part of my day: because they are. I loooove working with babies; it is truly one of the joys of my life! I treat them with tender care and respect, watching for their cues and always aware of their needs.
Straightforward and honest communication is one of my goals for every session. I want you to be informed and ready for each step.
I am more than happy to offer guidance with clothing and styling choices! It’s part of making your images their most beautiful! I also provide wraps, backdrops, blankets, hats and headbands for Baby. Parents are always welcome to suggest incorporating other meaningful items into the photos.
You always have the option of ordering photo products and not just receiving digital images! It’s so important to me that you leave the experience with something in your hands! Whether it’s gift prints, a canvas or an album, your photos will become art for your home and not just sit on a hard drive.

Answers to FAQ’s
- Gift prints start at $30
- Items in my online store include: prints, canvases, metal prints, cards, photo books and photo albums
- All editing is perfected by hand
- RAW and unedited files are not available
- Editing may take up to two weeks following a session, and final edits may take an additional two weeks after orders are submitted
- All photo products are shipped directly from photo labs to the client via US mail/UPS/FedEx
- I am available for worldwide travel, but must be booked a minimum of 6 weeks in advance
- A travel fee of .63/mile is added for travel of over 20 miles from Meridian, MS
